Glan Laser Prism For High-Power Laser Systems
Gran laser prism is a polarizing device made of two prisms of the same birefringent crystal material, with an air gap structure in the middle. This prism is an upgrade of the Gran Taylor prism with an escape window and is suitable for high-power laser systems.
This prism has a very high laser damage threshold and a slightly higher extinction ratio than ordinary Gran Taylor prisms. After passing through the prism, the beam transmits pure P-polarized light, while the side escape window emits pure S-polarized light and a small portion of P-polarized light. It can be used in situations where both polarizations are needed or for combining two polarized lights.
